Initial - Some background questions such as the number and type of houseplants that the participants own, and the way they acquired them. The survey we had designed had four kinds of questions: All participants were at least 18 years of age and currently own/have owned an indoor plant. We recruited our survey participants through the DePaul University CDM Participant Pool and through our social networks. Therefore, we conducted an online survey through Qualtrics and received 34 acceptable respondents. Also, we wanted to get answers to more specific questions related to the number and type of houseplants that the participants own, the plant care routine, the participant's learning methods, the important factors considerations when choosing a plant, and etc. We wanted to learn how our observation and interview findings generalized to a larger population.

We recorded the interviews and then transcribed them. In general, all the interview sessions lasted about 30 minutes. In the end, we asked wrap-up questions about their demographics. Questions about how technology could help them improve with indoor gardening.

More deep focused questions related to how the participants take care of their plants, what are some struggles they encountered, and their knowledge about the existing indoor gardening technologies. General questions related to the number and type of the plants the participants owned. First, we asked them to answer our screener questions to make sure they are the targeted audience for this research All of them were older than 18 years old (range of 19 to 60 years old), and they currently have an interest in owning and caring for indoor plants. We recruited 8 participants through our personal connections.
APP GREENIFY ANDROID
This is similar to administrator rights on a computer OS, but unfortunately unlike a computer OS, rooting Android requires a bit more than flipping a switch. Our team considered interviews as the next data collection method with the goal of learning about the participants' expertise, interest, and habits regarding indoor gardening. But who behaves like that anyway?Ī rooted device is one where the user has root level access. Yet for a person who is careful with the assortment of applications he or she keeps on their phone, then Greenify might not be of much use. Greenify is very useful if you don't know the underground activities of the apps that sit on your device.

Hibernation means that Greenify police has caught the app working disorderly and (with your permission) has interrupted its ability to spend system resources. Also on the screen, there may be applications that have been hibernated. A lonely "Zzz" button sits in a corner ready to do its function. Greenify doesn't have much in the way of interface. The application is especially designed to switch off any nagging processes so that your device performance becomes laudable again. How about installing another app? Yes, it sounds crazy but do you know what you need? What to do though, buy a new phone? Too expensive. Of course, it is rather hard to uninstall most of them. But when you realize that your device holds more apps than it can handle then you might want to clean it up a bit.
